The will itself stays free because writing one is a religious duty in the Sunnah; premium covers the optional estate-planning extras.

Most users complete the will in 10–20 minutes. The flow has 11 sections: welcome, personal information, family, estate value, discretionary bequests, inheritance share review, executor, Islamic directives, jurisdiction-specific requirements, and final review.

Yes. The interface works on any device with a modern browser. Your names and values never leave your device; inheritance shares are computed on our servers from de-identified inputs (relationships, counts, and school), so an internet connection is required to compute them.

Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanbali, and Ja'fari (Twelver Shia). The faraid engine encodes the divergences between schools and applies the rules of the school you select. Where schools disagree (e.g., on radd, mushtarakah, the grandfather/sibling competition), the calculation includes a citation explaining the position taken.

The faraid engine is covered by an extensive automated test suite and cross-validated against established inheritance calculators.

Formal peer review by named scholars is in progress. Scholars who wish to review the rule set or submit corrections are welcome to contact us.

Until formal review is complete, treat this tool as a strong first draft and have a qualified scholar review the result before relying on it.

The platform enforces the rule lā waṣiyyata li-wārith ('no bequest to an heir') and warns when total discretionary bequests exceed one-third of the estate. Bequests beyond one-third require unanimous heir consent and are flagged.

Wasiyyah wajibah (obligatory bequest) is a statutory bequest for grandchildren whose parent predeceased the testator, recognized in many Muslim-majority jurisdictions (Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia, Kuwait). When you indicate orphaned grandchildren, the generated will includes a section noting this obligation and advises consulting a scholar to allocate it under your jurisdiction's specific statute. Automatic calculation of the wajibah amount is on the roadmap.

The platform generates documents that match the formal execution requirements (witnesses, notarization, signing procedure) of your jurisdiction. You must still execute it correctly — print, sign in front of two witnesses, have witnesses sign in your presence and each other's.

Fawz Will is in beta. The faraid engine is well tested but the generated PDF templates and jurisdiction-specific clauses have not all been reviewed by attorneys. The BETA banner stays on every document until each jurisdiction's templates have been formally reviewed. We will not silently remove it — when a jurisdiction is reviewed, that fact will be displayed transparently.

Only the SHA-256 hash of your generated PDF, sent to OpenTimestamps when you choose to anchor the document to the Bitcoin blockchain. The hash reveals nothing about the contents.

Optionally: when you click 'Or download PDF only', no network requests are made at all.

No analytics services, no third-party scripts, no fonts loaded from CDNs. Every network request is first-party: the application download, a de-identified share calculation, optionally one OpenTimestamps hash when you anchor a document, and — during the review beta — anonymous, aggregate usage metrics that count only milestones reached, never names, values, or identities. We respect your browser's Do Not Track setting, and you can verify every request in your browser's Network tab.

Drafts are encrypted with AES-256-GCM (a 256-bit key derived from your passphrase via PBKDF2-SHA256 with 600,000 iterations) and stored in your browser's IndexedDB. The passphrase is never saved. If you forget it, the draft is unrecoverable.

After the first load the interface runs in your browser and your draft is saved locally (encrypted). Computing inheritance shares requires a connection to our servers, which receive only de-identified inputs (relationships, counts, and school). Blockchain anchoring is optional and also requires internet.

When you click 'Generate Will & Evidence Bundle', the SHA-256 hash of your PDF is submitted to the OpenTimestamps Bitcoin calendar servers. Within 1–24 hours, the hash is committed to a Bitcoin block via a Merkle tree. The .ots proof file in your evidence bundle, combined with the eventual Bitcoin block, lets anyone independently verify your document existed at the submission time. No central authority is required.
